Product Overview

Corten A / Corten B / ASTM A242 / A588 Gr.A/B/C/K / A709 Gr.50W Weathering Steel Plate is ASTM standard atmospheric corrosion resistant structural steel, widely known as Corten steel. Manufactured strictly following ASTM A242, ASTM A588 and ASTM A709 standards, this series steel contains Cu, Cr, Ni alloy elements. When exposed to outdoor atmospheric environment, it will automatically form a dense, stable rust patina layer on the surface, which prevents further corrosion of the steel substrate without frequent paint coating.

This ASTM weathering steel series covers Corten A, Corten B, A242, A588 Gr.A/B/C/K and A709 Gr.50W grades. It features high strength, good plasticity, outstanding welding and bending performance. The thickness range is 1.5–100mm, customizable width and length available, we can provide steel plate and steel coil with cutting service.

It is the preferred material for bridges, outdoor sculpture, landscape structures, building facade, railway vehicle and other long-service outdoor engineering projects. All products come with mill test certificate to guarantee chemical and mechanical properties.

Corten A is equivalent to ASTM A242, higher phosphorus content, mainly for thin plates; Corten B equals A588 Gr.A, lower phosphorus, more suitable for thick heavy structural components.
