Product Overview

Weathering steel coil, also known as Corten steel coil, is a coil product with atmospheric corrosion resistance. It is widely used in shipping containers, railway vehicles, automobile structures, bridges, building facades and outdoor steel structures where durability and reduced maintenance are required.

Weathering steel coil contains copper, chromium and nickel alloy elements. Under normal atmospheric exposure, it will gradually form a dense and stable protective rust layer on the surface. This rust layer acts as a natural barrier, slowing down further corrosion and allowing the material to be used without continuous painting in many outdoor environments.

Compared with ordinary carbon steel coil, weathering steel coil provides better long-term corrosion resistance. Compared with stainless steel coil, it is more cost-effective for many structural and transportation applications. It combines good strength, ductility, weldability and formability, making it suitable for various forming and welding processes.
