Product Overview
Electrolytic Tinplate Coil (ETP) is cold-rolled low-carbon steel electroplated with a pure tin layer, combining the mechanical strength of steel with tin’s corrosion resistance, solderability and printing performance. It is widely used as a base material for metal packaging and can-making applications.
The product is available in T1–T5 conventional temper grades for general can-making and DR7–DR10 double-reduced grades for applications requiring higher strength with thinner gauges. This allows buyers to select the material according to forming, stamping and production requirements.
Standard tin coating weights include #25, #50, #75 and #100, with differential tin coating such as #25/#50 available for applications requiring different coating weights on each side. Post-treatment options include chemical passivation, DOS oil, Butyl Alcohol oil film and food-grade epoxy lacquer for specified packaging applications.
With thickness from 0.14–0.50mm, standard mother coil widths of 700–1050mm, and slitting available for narrow strips, the ETP coil can be supplied for different packaging production lines. Typical applications include food cans, beverage lids, pharmaceutical and cosmetic packaging, bottle caps, printing cans and confectionery tins.
