Product Overview
Steel Cut Wire Shot is a high-performance wire-cut metallic abrasive manufactured by cutting solid steel wire according to a strict 1:1 cutting rule, where the cutting length equals the wire diameter. It is designed for modern blasting, cleaning, surface finishing and shot peening applications requiring stable particle geometry and controlled impact performance.
The product is available in carbon steel and stainless-steel grades, including Q195, 65Mn, 70#, Russian CT10/CT65, 304 and 316L stainless steel. Stainless-steel options correspond to EN 1.4301 / 1.4404 and Russian 08X18H10 / 03X17H13M2, helping prevent carbon contamination when treating stainless-steel workpieces.
The available wire diameter range is 0.4–3.0 mm, with EN CW0.4-CW3.0, Russian GOST ППС series and imperial SWG18#-SWG6# size systems. The GOST range includes ППС-M low-carbon soft cut wire and ППС-B high-carbon hardened cut wire.
Three hardness grades—Soft Cut Wire HV300-400, Medium Hard HV400-530 and Hardened Cut Wire HV530-650—cover applications from aluminum, copper and thin-wall workpieces to steel-structure blasting, automotive peening, springs and heavy-duty forgings. Compared with conventional steel shot and steel grit, cut wire shot offers a low breakage rate and extended service life.

FAQs
Steel Cut Wire Shot is a metallic abrasive produced by cutting solid steel wire according to a 1:1 length-to-diameter ratio.
The supplied specification covers 0.4–3.0 mm wire diameter. EN CW0.4-CW3.0, GOST ППС and SWG18#-SWG6# systems are available.
Three grades are available: - Soft Cut Wire: HV300-400 - Medium Hard: HV400-530 - Hardened Cut Wire: HV530-650
Carbon-steel options include Q195, 65Mn, 70#, CT10 and CT65. Stainless-steel options include 304 and 316L, with corresponding EN and Russian grades.
304/316L stainless-steel cut wire shot helps avoid carbon contamination when treating stainless-steel workpieces, which carbon-based abrasives cannot provide.
