Product Overview
Zero Spangle and Minimal Spangle (Minimized Spangle) hot dipped galvanized steel sheets are premium surface-finish GI plates produced by controlling zinc bath composition and rapid cooling technology during continuous hot-dip galvanizing. Regular galvanized steel forms obvious large zinc crystal spangles, while these two fine-surface products restrict zinc grain growth to achieve smooth, uniform silver-gray surfaces.
Minimal Spangle GI has tiny, barely observable zinc crystals, balancing surface quality and cost; Zero Spangle GI achieves spangle-free fully uniform surface after skin pass rolling, the top-grade surface for painting and visible components. Available substrate grades cover forming grades DX51D, DX52D, DX53D, DX54D and structural grades SS230, SS340, SS550 under EN10346 and ASTM A653 standards.
Zinc coating options range Z40 to Z275 g/m². Thickness 0.25mm–3.0mm, width 700–1500mm, supplied as cut flat sheets or GI coils. Widely used for home appliance panels, HVAC ventilation ducts, architectural cladding, pre-painted base material, electrical cabinet shells, automotive interior parts and metal furniture.

FAQs
Minimal spangle has tiny zinc grains barely visible to naked eyes. Zero spangle is fully spangle-free after skin pass rolling, smoother and more suitable for high-grade painting. Minimal spangle is more cost-effective for most architectural and HVAC projects.
Yes. Zero and minimal spangle surfaces avoid spangle texture showing through paint coating, greatly improving surface finish of final PPGI products. It is the preferred base material for color coating lines.
Yes, if you select DX52D/DX53D/DX54D substrate. The spangle modification only changes surface appearance and will not reduce the base material forming performance.
Yes, both surface types support Z275 heavy zinc coating for outdoor anti-corrosion projects.
Mixed loading is acceptable. We use separate marking and packing labels to distinguish different surface finishes to avoid confusion at destination.
We inspect surface defect, zinc coating weight, dimensional tolerance, bending test. Surface visual inspection is strictly implemented to reject scratches, stains and uneven coating, and provide MTC for each batch.
